Rosenboom Machine & Tool Announces Major Expansion Of Its Operations In Sheldon

A NORTHWEST IOWA MANUFACTURER HAS ANNOUNCED EXPANSION PLANS. ROSENBOOM MACHINE AND TOOL IS PLANNING TO GROW ITS OPERATIONS IN SHELDON, WHERE THE COMPANY IS HEADQUARTERED.

THE $16 MILLION PROJECT WILL INCLUDE A 46,000 SQUARE FOOT PRODUCTION LINE, CREATING UP TO 54 NEW JOBS OVER THREE YEARS WITH AN ANNUAL PAYROLL CREATED AFTER 24 MONTHS ESTIMATED TO BE $1.8 MILLION.

THE CITY OF SHELDON HAS AWARDED ROSENBOOM MACHINE AND TOOL A 5 YEAR TAX REBATE. THE COMPANY IS ALSO SEEKING ASSISTANCE FROM THE IOWA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY.

COMPANY OFFICIALS SAY THE EXPANSION WAS MADE POSSIBLE THOUGH A MILITARY CONTRACT WITH THE U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. ROSENBOOM MACHINE AND TOOL WILL MANUFACTURE TWO KEY COMPONENTS OF SUSPENSION SYSTEMS FOR JOINT LIGHT TACTICAL VEHICLES.

IN ADDITION TO ITS MANUFACTURING FACILITIES IN SHELDON AND SPIRIT LAKE, THE COMPANY ALSO HAS A PLANT IN BOWLING GREEN, OHIO. IT PRODUCES HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS, ACTUATORS, ACCUMULATORS AND HIGH PRESSURE GAS SPRINGS.
