Two suspects involved in the Wednesday afternoon robbery of the Iowa State Bank in Le Mars have been identified as 32-year-old Phillip White and 35-year-old Karen Merrick, both of Sioux City. They were arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of robbing the bank and leading authorities on a pursuit through rural Plymouth County. They were taken into custody without incident at about 3:15 p.m. on Plymouth County Road K18 near Westfield. The pair have been charged with eluding, but the Le Mars Police Department has not yet charged them with robbery. The two may also face federal charges. Iowa State Trooper John Farley said White mentioned a weapon when demanding money, but no weapon was displayed. Farley said he was not aware of any weapons recovered from the van, but an undisclosed amount of money was found in the van and recovered.
